For those born after 1981, would you rather stare a hieroglyphics in a cave or listen to your favorite artist? As an artist, you often are telling a story, focusing on a subject, or just self expressing. The way we create has drastically changed especially with recent digitalization.

We can take our work and embed it into a universal file to distribute. In Fine Art, we can't make a Digital Oil on Canvas, but you can make that Oil on Canvas into a digital High-Res image and distribute the image. A lot of music is created digitally, with the ability to take a sympathy orchestra and impose each instrustment on a digital keyboard. This gives way to a musician having a similar access to most well funded like the Gustavo Dudamel analog LA Philharmonic.

Easier access to an Artist work can create problems. In the instance with music, a digital recorded track is a composition of different sounds (instruments) that combine one line at a time. Therefore, each line can be a different product in itself. For example, a rock song may consist of instruments (Guitar, Bass, Drums), Vocals (Lead and Back Up). You have the attributes of a song which are the vocals and instruments and instances under each which are the instruments. 

An Artist or record label may wish to remix or mashup with another artist creativity and in that case, the artist who is remixing may only ask for the instrumentals, or vocals. In this case, the record label can charge accordingly to all parties involved that get a royalty. Which was the case with DJ Reset and Jay Z.

What is interesting here is the case of fusion. In comparison to the culinary industry, could Peter Lugers Steak House serve a complete meal with Chef Wolfgang Pucks well known fish puff pastry without his knowledge?
